East Village Community School: EVCS Weekly: Friday October 15
Dear parents and guardians of the EVCS,
It has been a short and sweet week at EVCS. Class parents are preparing to contact you with class directories, keep an eye out. And we need help with the 2021 Fall Ball! The AP is now in full planning mode and will host this event with COVID security in mind. To be involved.
When a student is selected for testing, a follow-up email will be sent by Fulgurating genetics. Don’t worry, this is the basic follow-up to let you know the test has taken place and how to review the results. Liz will also send an email to all families tested using the same address used by the testing lab. Make sure your phone number and email address are up to date in your NYC SA. If you have any questions, please let us know. COVID testing is a crucial part of our tiered approach to keeping our community safe and healthy. Each week, the DOE will randomly test 10% of our Grades 1-5 students who have given consent. If your child is in Grades 1-5 and you have not yet done so, please give your consent now on your child’s NYC Schools account. But whatever the level of your child, we strongly encourage all of our families to have their children tested regularly. Please note that testing is free and easy on New York Health and Hospitals Locations.
EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) and Action Sociale cards
Last year, New York City public school children received EBT cards containing funds to shop for groceries. If you would like to use the card but have difficulty, please contact James for more information at [email protected]. If you are not planning on using your child’s EBT card, our social action committee would like to help you donate the funds to the 9th Street and B Avenue Soup Kitchen for groceries. Interested in donating EBT card money? Please contact the Social Action Committee at [email protected]. Don’t let these funds go to waste.
For those who wish to have lunch, the courtyard is open every day at 8:00 a.m. Free for all students.
