We highlight a lot of gastronomic vacations here. National Burger Day. National Sandwich Day. National pickle day. These foods are great, but the holidays are light and relatively inconsequential. (Unless you’re very hungry and just found a good deal.)

October 28 is not a gastronomic feast, but some restaurants are approaching it. It’s first responders day. It’s a day when we say thank you to the many first responders who still deserve some appreciation but who have been particularly noteworthy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Restaurants and shops will offer a little thank you on this day, serving free food, beers, and discounts. First responders will be able to take advantage of offers at places like Krispy Kreme, their local bar courtesy of Budweiser, Friendly’s and many other favorite spots.

To help first responders get their edible appreciation in the middle of a busy day, we’ve rounded up all the best deals available for First Responders Day.
